Join Alissa Allen of Mycopigments for a free, hour-long presentation on finding and extracting a rainbow of color from wild fungi. You will be guided through the steps for using mushrooms and lichens to achieve a full spectrum of permanent color for wool and silk fiber.

Sept. 2nd - 4th: Mushroom and Lichen Dye Camp with Western Montana Mycological Association! Immerse yourself in an introductory foraging and dyeing experience while camping with WMMA. Other mushroom walks and mycological learning opportunities will be happening throughout the weekend event with the dye foray and workshop taking place on Saturday - You can choose your own adventure! The camping and dyeing experience is open to Western Montana Mycological Association members only, so sign up to be a member today The cost to participate in the dye exploration is $40 which includes two silk scarves, a dye foray and the workshop. Monday, Sept. 5 at Free Cycles: Mushroom and Lichen Dye Intensive. If you are yearning for more experiences with these incredible organisms and their brilliant colors, sign up for this class and dye a rainbow of colors using a selection of the best western dye species. The cost for this intensive is $138 for WMMA members and $150 for the general public. You will take home an informational booklet detailing the craft, a two-page color guide to the best regional dye species, a recipe card with a full spectrum of samples dyed in class, and a silk scarf designed and dyed by YOU!
